Can I format the checkboxes that I add to Word documents?

Yes, formatting checkboxes in Word is possible. For the checkboxes with a hyperlink, click on the check mark and then, go to the Developer tab and click Properties to format it where you can even change the default checkmark X symbol or the alignment of text. Regarding the insert check box in Word by default through the Symbol option, format them from the Home tab depending on your needs; font size, font color as well and alignment of the icon in the checkbox.
